Rikke Steensbjerre Møller, PhD, MSc is a molecular geneticist working as head of Department of Epilepsy Genetics and Personalized Medicine at the Danish Epilepsy Centre, Filadelfia. She is appointed professor of epilepsy genetics at University of Southern Denmark. The overall aim of her research is to unravel the underlying mechanisms of genetic epilepsies, to understand correlations with clinical symptoms and to find new treatment options. Rikke Steensbjerre Møller's team has discovered or contributed to the discovery of several different epilepsy genes, and their work have led to personalized treatment options for different forms of genetic epilepsies. The team members have a special interest in voltage-gated sodium channels, and have published more than 20 papers on the phenotypic and genetic spectrum, treatment options, and outcomes of SCN1A, SCN2A and SCN8A-related disorders. Rikke Steensbjerre Møller is member of EpiCARE, a European Reference Network for rare and complex epilepsies.
